NEW WEB SITE - There is a new website that is providing access information
and travel resources about Israel. This site is being updated with
information on 100 new entries every week, from different locations all
around Israel. Travel, Culture, Shopping, Civil service & more are
included. The organization that has put this site together is planning to
survey more then 2500 locations a year. They have a professional, trained
disabled staff doing the surveys. Check it out at www.access-israel.com

A FEW SPACES LEFT - Tourism for People with Special Needs -Israel has a
few spaces left on a group-guided tour to Israel specially tailored for
people with walking limitations and those that use wheelchairs. The tour is
escorted by an American expert escort and will be guided by an English
speaking Israeli certified tour guide with a lot of experience guiding
tours with people that are using wheelchairs. The tour will start September
4, for 13 nights, 2450US$ per person Dbl. Ocu. Land only. For more

ABILITIES EXPOS - The next two shows will be the Chicago Metro Show held at
the Rosemont Convention Center August 11-13. 2000. The other, the
Washington, D.C. Metro Show held at the Capital Expo Center - Chantilly, VA
September 22-24, 2000. Access-Able will be putting on Travel Workshops
each day of the shows. The workshops are sponsored by Continental Airline.

KIWI TOURS (NEW ZEALAND) LIMITED

the busy tourist resorts to the quietest back-blocks, almost anywhere in
New Zealand.
Their tours are as adventurous or as quiet as you want them to be.
Deep-sea fishing, jet boating, bush walks, scenic flights and white water
rafting are just some of the activities available. These things do not have
to be restricted just to the young and able.
Accessible Kiwi Tours is not bound by tight itineraries or time schedules.

CAPE COD BED AND BREAKFAST
Historic Liberty Hill Inn, built by shipwrights in 1825, provides guests
with a quiet place to get away and relax. The inn has nine guestrooms.
Each room is decorated uniquely and with its own special options to reflect
the wealth of its former whaling ship owner, Ezekiel Hallet. Some rooms
offer private entrances and fireplaces while others offer sitting rooms and
garden view.
Elizabeth's Garden is the one accessible room at the inn. It is located
beside the flower garden. This first floor room has a queen size bed, a
sleeper sofa and a corner fireplace. The room and bathroom are fully
accessible. Special amenities in the bathroom include a shower with no
threshold and a seat, a raised toilet seat and special sink fixtures.

AMTRAK - GETTING THERE IS HALF THE FUN
Have you considered going by train for your next trip. Well you might be
pleasantly surprised. Amtrak has worked hard to provide access to
travelers with disabilities. Most Amtrak stations are accessible and all
trains have at least one car with seating for one or two wheelchairs and an
accessible restroom. On trains that have sleeper coaches, each car has one
compartment that is accessible and has an accessible private bath. There
are two styles of sleeper cars so specifics of individual compartments will
vary depending on the equipment used on a particular route. This
information is available from reservations. Although wheelchair users
cannot freely move between the cars, meals will be delivered to the passenger.
Service dogs are welcome and the use of oxygen while on board can be
arranged. To find out more about the services that they provide to
passengers with disabilities contact Amtrak at 800-872-7245 to request
